In contrast, the "software", the strings, changes quite rapidly: Stroke by stroke and match by match, the string bed continuously loses tension and dynamism. Personal DT value - Is your Power under Control?
The ERT 300 quickly and accurately measures the dynamic tension of the string bed of a strung racket. This DT value determines how well you get on with your racket.
The DT value defines the power and control of your game. A softly strung racket with a low DT reading generates more power by ball acceleration. A firmly strung racquet with a higher DT reading ensures better control and thus precision. Each player has his or her own optimum DT value . He or she can determine this value by using the ERT 300 when training and by means of playing experience.
[Defined physically, the DT value is the ball power in kp (kilopond) that is required to depress the string bed by 1 cm for a short period of time (ball impact). International units: kp/cm, Newton /mm]
Monitoring the Stringing.
Over time and as a result of use, each string loses tension and dynamism.
Keep your performance at a consistently high level by monitoring the stringing of your racket and getting it restrung in good time. Restringing is required after a loss of dynamic tension DT of 10 to a maximum of 20 percent.

Here's how it works:
Step 1 - The ERT 300 is clipped onto the middle of the stringbed.
Step 2 - The start button is used to trigger automatic
measurement. Electronic simulation of the ball impact measures and analyses the vibrations of the strings.
Step 3 - After a few seconds, the values determined are shown on the LCD display.
DYNAMIC TENSION DT (DT-Value) The dynamic string bed stiffness that effects during play. The DT-Value determines POWER and CONTROL.
Step 4 - Now use the DT system disc to determine the string tension in kp (lbs).
There really is no quicker way of doing it!
The DT disc is also used by the stringer as a stringing guide for correct pull tension set (kp or lbs.) corresponding to the required dynamic tension DT.
